The majority of the investment for a franchise is its inventory. This can be tailored to a specific budget based on the size of the business location. Prospect franchisees must evaluate location costs including up-fitting which all depends on the size, location and available labor. That information is not included here. Inventory: Depends on specific product mix whether we are catering to more fashion or biker customers, as well as the year round temperature of the franchise location.

Walls: Estimate includes 2×6 grid wall mounted to a painted, wallpapered or textured walls.

Kiosk: Estimate for a carpeted and raised island with eight (8) black 3/4 view showcases in an octagon shape with two register cabinets and two openings, one on each side of the island. Two glass shelves in each showcase and the K-plan might include an upper frame for additional displays.

Racks: Estimate consists of several black straight bar and 4 way racks for apparel as well as black racks that can hold purses and other bags either on shelves or waterfall islands.

Signage: Estimate for a channel letter sign of the franchise logo of which size will depend on permit-able space, storefront size and/or location. An optional goose neck lighting above for looks or function. The K-plan may be smaller channel letter sign and may require two sides.

Video Surveillance: Estimate for required security of the high ticket product and staff management as required by the franchisor. Limited access to this video system must be available to franchisor.

In-Store Video: Estimate for a large screen TV that hangs from the ceiling with a USB stick that plays info videos and stills or PowerPoint presentation in an endless loop. This will include any of the following: sale menu, current sales promotion, product images, product videos, how to videos, franchise support videos and other approved imagery all provided by the franchisor.

Marketing: Estimate includes grand opening event days and signage, establishment of social media, local TV and Radio spots and optional billboard advertising.

Mannequins: Estimate will include 2 full size male, 2 full size enhanced feature females and one plus size women’s mannequin. It should also allow for 2-6 busts for product displays, and ladies form bust hangers. The K-plan may have busts but no full size mannequins.

Other: Estimate includes hangers, sign holders, bags, paper goods, and other miscellaneous operational necessities.

POS & Computers: Estimate for 2-4 computers. One or two POS register computers running the required software with receipt printer, cash drawer and at least one credit card machine. One back office computer with required software, full size laser printer and one color printer for instore signage. One customer Kiosk computer for customers to show the website. The kiosk computer for all locations can be an older computer modified with limited access to the Jamin Leather® websites mounted to a counter or podium.

Expenses Not Included in this Total Investment:

Total Investment Payments:  Prospective franchisees will pay for all necessary supplies and fixtures directly to approved fixture suppliers. Catalog inventory will be purchased directly thru the Franchisor. Coordination of all such purchases must be arranged based on a planned Grand Opening date. Some select inventory items will require production time before shipping.

History of Jamin Leather®

Founded in 1979 in the wonderful state of New York, Jamin Leather® formally known as Jamie’s Leather prior to 1990, has always been a retailer of leather apparel and accessories, including handmade and private label products. Revenue is generated at its flagship Myrtle Beach retail location (since 1997) and by a mail order print catalog (since 1993, samples shown below), the internet (since 1995), and through online affiliates which include Amazon, Etsy, eBay and others (beginning around 2010).

Revenue is derived from print catalog and online retail of approximately 45% through their optimized websites including jaminleather.com and shop.jaminleather.com, a 6,800 square foot Myrtle Beach Catalog Outlet retail location generating over 50% of its sales, and marketplace affiliates generating approximately 10% of its sales through Amazon, Google, Facebook, TikTok, Etsy, and eBay amongst others. The Company has successfully attracted visitors to the Myrtle Beach area from all over the world as could your future franchise location.

Jamin Leather® specializes in leather apparel and accessories (some of which are made in South Carolina). Jamin Leather® offers a unique collection that rivals competitors, designs, and produces exclusive items that no one offers. Jamin Leather® has a 48 page print catalog that no known competitor produces, offers more styles of leather goods than any known competitor in virtually every apparel category, and has superior in-house customer service, retail, shipping and manufacturing staff.

Jamin Leather® uses Google marketing, remarketing, display ads and slants its marketing toward leather shoppers, bikers, alternative lifestyles, steampunk, 50 shades, and other lookalike audiences as the market trends seem to be best suited at the time. Besides the Jamin Leather® website promotions, their multi-page nationwide print catalog is mailed to a large portion of their periodically updated 200,000-customer database. Jamin Leather® schedules nationwide weekly emails, schedules social media posts thru Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and others, and lastly, produces a bi-weekly live video recordings featuring products, trivia and consumer how-to information, live as well as pre-recorded posts on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Twitch simultaneously… all encompassing a well-rounded marketing plan.

The Myrtle Beach retail store is a 6,800 sq. feet of retail space with sales partially generated from local billboards, bike week promotions, local emails, MBEventGuide.com posts, print catalog hand-outs, and from their well trained and engaging staff.

Jamin Leather® also sponsors many bike week events with Charity Benefit Runs, obtains special event permits for vendors, as well as sponsors an events website for Myrtle Beach locals, tourists and bike week visitors called MBEventGuide.com. Advertisers on the site are likeminded businesses and are in close collaboration with Jamin Leather® for bike week events and places to go.

Our Motivation to Franchise

While the owner believes Jamin Leather® has numerous appealing attributes and outstanding growth opportunities, in 2024 at age 64 and after almost 50 years selling leather goods, the time is right to expand to new markets.
