We have filled our Dragon Boat!!! Thank you to all those that signed up. This is Ground Zeros biggest fundraiser of the year and the fourth year Solid Rock at Market Common has participated in helping by entering a team in the race. The dragon boat races have been changed from April 25th to Saturday, August 22nd is the big race day. Be sure to come out and support our Solid Rock Rowers!
What is Dragon Boating? “Dragon boating originated in ancient Chinese culture, but since the 1970’s it is the fastest-growing, international, team water sport today..”. “Boats consisting of twenty paddlers and one drummer race to cross the finish line with the fastest time. Dragon boating encourages a team spirit through the drive of competition and exhilarating action”.
Purpose: “The purpose of the festival is to raise funds for Ground Zero in a cutting-edge and engaging way. The money raised through the Dragon Boat Festival enables Ground Zero to communicate the vision of the ministry to the public and to fund events for local teenagers, schools, youth pastors, and many others”.
